Pakistan's cricketers will join the Pakistan Army

Pakistan's cricketers will join the Pakistan Army for a ten-day training camp from March 25 to April 8. This was announced by PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi in Islamabad. The camp aims to boost players' fitness after the Pakistan Super League (PSL) ends.
Naqvi noticed players' fitness lacking during PSL matches and wants to improve it. He mentioned upcoming matches against New Zealand, Ireland, England, and the T20 World Cup and emphasized the need for training. The camp will take place at Kakul military academy, with the Army assisting in training.
However, some players may not be happy about the camp, especially as it's during the busy cricket season and overlaps with the Ramadan period when fasting affects energy levels. Previously, Pakistan cricket had training camps with the military, notably before a series with England, where Misbah-ul-Haq scored big and celebrated with military-style push-ups.
Naqvi also urged players to prioritize national commitments over T20 leagues, citing Haris Rauf's refusal to join Pakistan's Australia tour. He shared his own experience of sacrificing financially to serve Pakistan. He emphasized the importance of putting Pakistan first, even though players can still earn money from T20 leagues.
Currently, Pakistan doesn't have a national coaching set-up, but Naqvi assured that the PCB is looking for options and will spend money on improving cricket at all levels, including players' fitness, training, and coaches.
