Matric (Class-9) Annual Exams 2024

Punjab's School Education Minister, Rana Sikandar Hayat, disclosed on Sunday that examination centers in Lahore had been illicitly sold to the cheating mafia for Rs80,000 during the ongoing Matric (Class-9) Annual Exams 2024. Making significant revelations about the activities of the cheating mafia, he asserted that he had received substantial offers and threats from them.
In an official statement released on Sunday, a spokesperson for the minister emphasized Rana Sikandar Hayat's determination to prevent Punjab from facing the same fate as Sindh and Karachi regarding exam cheating. He stated that the suspension of the BISE chairman was just the beginning and accused the Board chairman and controller of examinations of colluding with the cheating mafia.
Rana Sikandar Hayat highlighted that 30 individuals had already been apprehended from the examination centers, signaling a crackdown on the cheating mafia. He further mentioned that advance arrangements had been made for the sale and purchase of mathematics papers, with private school entities purchasing centers to secure high marks for their students.
The minister revealed that the rates for purchasing exam papers ranged between Rs4,000 and Rs7,000, with invigilators openly discussing the fees on social media platforms. He applauded Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz's stance against the cheating mafia and expressed his determination to root out this corruption under her leadership.
