Asif Ali Zardari, the Co-chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), who secured a substantial victory in the presidential election a day earlier, has officially taken the oath as the 14th President of Pakistan.
The Chief Justice of Pakistan, Qazi Faez Isa, administered the oath during a ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad on Sunday.
The event was attended by prominent figures, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, outgoing President Arif Alvi, all three service chiefs, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza.
