My name is Junaid from PkFarmer. We are group of enthusiastic researchers who are working to study breeds of livestock and agriculture from different paradise to improve production in organic way.

We deeply study individual breed and collect facts about that. We also study soil, germination, soaking and doing experiments to provide better way of feeding to people and animal so we can eliminate chemical usage.

I like to know about your thoughts on our initiative and your point of view.

that sounds like a great concept especially considering the overuse of chemicals and gm foods in developing countries..lso the process of hydroponics may well give smaller communities the ability to grow there own food reducing dependency on large corporations..
also my father in law has over thirty years of experience in the poultry sector from the days in its infancy..as a veterinarian doctor....he is in lahore but is always willing to give advice. he is retired now..

It sounds good, poultry, dairy, livestock and in agriculture mainly uneducated people are doing business due to which Pakistan backbones are weak. Where in other countries like Europe, Canada, UK, Australia, NZ, USA etc advanced their farmers and most of them are educated.

Technology costs a lot but in the long run, it benefits a lot from any conventional thing.

We wanna educated young people to see how easy to start a business in these sectors with a very small investment like goat farming cost 30k PKR for a goat who will give babies twice a year which can produce 30K PKR profit a year.

@PKFarmer Do you have information about ostrich farming? i did research about that some years ago like in 2015. It was interesting, but only issue at that time was difficulty to find actual buyers who will purchase the mature bird, How is its market now in Lahore and other cities, i am following their page for updates and it seems people are buying meat now.

I was wary at that time because they were not doing written contract that they will buy the bird when it is ready

The business plan was:

Buy 2 to 3 months old Ostrich @ 10 to 15K pkr

Need small fenced land (around 1 Kanal can accommodate 30 Birds).

Cost for a single bird feed was mentioned as around 2K per month.

A mature bird is sold for 80k to 100K . Or you can sell its meet (that apparently no one is intested in no doubt it is healthy and people in other countries prefer it)

As i said earlier, my only reservation was who will buy those ostriches and their meet. Are there any updates?

Special species of breed farming are less popular in Pakistan, either you have a connection with the elite then you can do business or if you have access to the local zoo.
I personally did not look in this farming but I know about deer farming which people do and it have very aggressive market.

Mean once you get in deer farming people will throw money to have deer, mature cost 70k to 200k

And it's almost the same as Goat.

6-month pregnancy

1 birth per pregnancy

baby costs 40k or up to.

Deer prices vary on different conditions and different breeds, like chinkara deer need license to do farming, some breed does not need this.

International buyers have a lot of interest in Pakistani deers.

Info Resource:
https://fwf.punjab.gov.pk/sale_rates_animals

These rates are for the Government to sell and purchase, which does not apply to individuals.
Individual farmers sell on 10x prices.

hi admin
my in laws in lahore deal with poultry and did have a few farms but now deal in eggs but they have looked into ostrich farming...unfortunately the meat itself isn't consumed enough to make any serious money quickly as most if not all will have to be raised from either an incubated egg or chick stage...which takes time however from speaking to a few people who had done it the meat itself is healthy and also good in taste..
the big issue is marketing it in such way as the normal people (daily wagers ) make contact with it as its a cheap and wholesome source of protein....
oddly enough i was discussing with my cousin about how such a eatery could take off in pk just specialising in ostrich...

exactly that is the real issue, i disussed this with the Pak ostrich company some years ago and they said we are supplying meat at some restaurants in Lahore and people are liking it

This is very rare, people even don't think about special meat.
According to my own experience, I found dairy as profitable in means of liquidity of cash flow.
We are running goat farming, dairy & Turmeric (Haldi).
