The Sindh Assembly unanimously passed a resolution declaring the late former Prime Minister and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto a "National Democratic Hero" following a landmark opinion from the Supreme Court regarding Bhutto's trial, sentence, and ex*ecution.
The resolution, tabled by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, welcomed the historical opinion of the top court, stating that justice and a fair trial were not granted to Bhutto, according to the constitution.
The resolution also endorsed the sacrifices of Begum Nusrat Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and called for declaring ZA Bhutto a "National Democratic Hero" and officially a "Shaheed" (martyr).
