Mushtaq Ahmed

According to a press release from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Tuesday, Mushtaq Ahmed, the former Pakistan leg-spinner and World Cup winner, has been appointed as the new spin bowling coach for Bangladesh.
Mushtaq is set to join the team ahead of the preparation camp later this month for the T20 series against Zimbabwe. He will continue to work with the Bangladesh team until the conclusion of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and USA.
With previous experience as the spin bowling coach for England (2008-2014), West Indies (2018-19), and Pakistan (2020-22), as well as serving as Pakistan's team bowling consultant (2014-16), the 53-year-old brings a wealth of expertise to his new role.
Mushtaq's illustrious cricket career saw him take 185 wickets in 52 Tests at an average of 32.97, along with 161 wickets for Pakistan in 144 ODIs. He played a pivotal role in Pakistan's World Cup triumph in 1992, famously dismissing Graeme Hick with one of his googlies in the final.
