Speaking at a parliamentary party meeting, Nawaz Sharif highlighted the pressing issue of inflation in Pakistan and stressed the importance of providing relief to the public by addressing economic challenges.
He praised his younger brother, Shehbaz Sharif by stating, "In the current circumstances, Shehbaz Sharif is the best choice," and officially declared him the party's candidate for the prime minister's position.
The PML-N and PPP recently formed a coalition government at the Centre, ending post-election uncertainty.
