Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced the launch of the "Chief Minister Roshan Gharana" program aimed at distributing 50,000 solar systems across the province.
During a review meeting on Solar home solutions, she emphasized the immediate implementation of steps to install one-kilowatt solar systems and instructed the utilization of the latest solar technology.
With a budget allocation of Rs 12.6 billion, the first phase of the program will provide solar systems to 50,000 protected consumers using up to 100 units monthly through balloting. These systems will include advanced solar panels, inverters, batteries, and other necessary accessories.
The meeting was attended by Provincial Information Minister Azma Zahid Bukhari, Former Senator Pervaiz Rashid, MPA Sania Ashiq, Chief Secretary, Chairman Planning and Development, Secretaries of Energy and Finance, Chief Executive Officer of Punjab Power Development Company (PPDCL), Managing Director of Punjab Power Development Board (PPDB), and other relevant officials.
